Just when you thought that Tom Pomplun could not improve on his Graphic Classic line, he pulls a rabbit out of his literary hat and voila! Science Fiction, in COLOR! Volume 17 jumps out of the gates with a stellar cover from "The War of the Worlds" (Wells, as if you didn't know), and continues on with science fiction from sources you would not. Graphic Classics is a comic book anthology series published by Eureka Productions of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Graphic Classics features adaptations of literary classics by authors such as Arthur Conan Doyle, H. P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Allan Poe, with art by top professionals, many of whom hail from the underground or alternative comics world. Created and edited by Tom Pomplun, the series began. In my review of several entries from the Graphic Classics line of adaptations, I noted that some of the stories chosen seemed ill-suited for comics, and wondered what the Mark Twain collection might look like.
